David Fincher is a well known american film maker as well as music director for his dark thriller movies. Some examples of films directed by David are:

What each of the films openings are like:
seven
Sevens opening credits comes across as mysterios as we do not see a character however we see the characters actions. We see that the character has plasters over his fingers and has a pen knife, this gives it away to the audience that the film that they are about to watch is not going to be very pleasent. The film comes across as myserious, and we get the impression that the film may be based on a stalker as we see many pictures being cut out.

The game

The game ws David Finchers second film which he released in 1997. The game isnt based on a dark thriller environment instead the opening is based more of a business mans life which to the audience seems normal, However as the games opening goes on, we see a dead body which begins to give away the thriller side of the film and other hints such as the telephone which is off the hook. The dark environment comes into the shot as the opening sequence goes on.

Fight ClubFight Club was release in 1999 and is a film about an office worker who opens up a club for bare knuckle fighting men which tells us straight away that this type of thriller film is going to be action. As the two previous films which Davids produced, action is differant from his previous horror films.

ZodiacZodiac was released in 2007 and the gnre of it is, thriller with scenes of mystery and crime. The way how the opening titels of Zodiac enter is similar to seven with the same writing and text. The opening scene is more based on the music side as their isnt much going on in the scenes apart from the titles coming in. This is much differant from his other films as they was all based on what was going to happen in the films rather than introducting the important people to the film. During the opening titles we do not get any information on whats going to happen in the rest of the film which may put some of the audience off.


Similaraties and Differences of David Finchers film:
Each of the films give away what the story is going to be about and what type of thriller the audience is going to see, however this is differant for Zodiac as we see no characters or do not get given any clues of what is going to happen in the film and what type of genre the film will be.
Seven and the game give the audience a dark feeling and to expect horror through out the film as the opening comes across as dark and mysterious, however fight club and zodiac are not as dark during the opening which makes the audience think that the film isnt going to be as gloomy.
In each openings of the films music is being played throughout, the reason why i think David Fincher done this is because it builds tension and suspense. For example in seven as the music begins to increase, it makes the audience heart rase increase as they are preparing themselves for something bad to happen.
All of the films which David has wrote are all to do with parts of the thriller genre which means that he has aimed his target audience for people who like scary films and for mainly for teenagers and adults.
