As we changed our orignial idea, this means that we had to change our storyboard as we had a differant environment to film in and differant ideas going on.
Below is my rough sketch of a storyboard:

Update
During the past week, we as a group have all been busy editing our thriller opening to try and make it look as effective and capturing as possible. We have been using 'final cut pro' to edit, this software allows us to view the footage which we filmed, and cut out the parts which we dont want which allows the opening to be coming along. We have had alot of fun editing our thriller opening and have all enjoyed watching our final product come along.
We have to add our production logo and opening titles which we have made using 'after effects' and then we will be able to publish our 'rough cut.' As we are working as a group we have to discuss and listen to everyones idea of what we think will work and wont work, we have decided that we want our opening titles to come in like 'sevens' opening titles and that instead of them coming on with a plan background we want a patterned background to make it look more interesting and effective.
Here is a video of 'sevens' opening titles which has inspired our opening titles.

Re-filming
From the last post, you can see the bad quality and standard of our filming which we previously made. From seeing how our filming came out and discussing that we wasnt happy, we decided to change the story line slightly. Our main focus is still of a stalker however we only have him stalking one girl as we thought that previously with all of us playing characters it looked a bit to hectic and we was introducing to many characters in the opening scene. Today filming, i took the role of being the girl who was being stalked, chloe dressed up to be the male stalker, emily directed and unfortunatly kerry couldnt make it. Using the HD camera and tripod we filmed in the following places:
- Emilys house
- Emilys Estate
- Crystal Palace Park
- Penge
We all thought that today went alot better than the previous day of filming as the rain held off, the lighting looked alot better when we played back what we filmed and the quality was alot better. We all had alot of fun filming and are looking forward to start editing which we should begin on tuesday. Below are some pictures of us filming today.
Me in a shot walking to the park
Me and emily setting up to film chloe being the stalker
Mid shot - We used mid shots to establish the setting. For example, we used a mid shot to film me in the bed having a nightmare to show that i was in a bed. We also used a mid shot when i was sitting on a bench in the park to show the surroundings.
Over the shoilder shot - Using over the shoulder shots are used to show what the character is looking at. We decided that we do not want the stalkers face shown so we used alot of over th shoulder shots to show the character 'stalking' and showing his mystery. An example of when we used an over the shoulder shot is when the stalker was looking at the girl on the computer.
Close ups - Close ups are usually used to show a characters reaction, we used a close up to show the girls reaction to waking up from a bad dream which she had on the stalker. Close ups does not show the setting which means that the audienes main focus is on the character in the shot.
Panning - This is when the camera moves across a scene horizontally, we used panning to show the girl walking past the camera to go to the park.

During our filming we ensured that we used a variety of differant shots to engage the audience more, we used the following shots:
Extreme Close Up - Extreme close ups are used to show the importance of something, we decided to use an extreme close up to show messages which the girl recieved on the phone and the message which the stalker was sending. This shows that the message has an important effect on the rest of the film.
Over the shoilder shot - Using over the shoulder shots are used to show what the character is looking at. Long shot - Long shot show the whole of the scene which you are filming in, the focus is still of the character owever alot of background. We used a long shot when the girl was walking to the park and walking into the park.
Panning - This is when the camera moves across a scene horizontally, we used panning to show the girl walking past the camera to go to the park.
Below is the new storyboard which we are using due to the fact that we wasnt happy with the way our previous filming turnt out which means changing the storyboard.

Day of editing
Today was the day of editing, as we opened up final cut pro and looked through our footage which we was about edit. As a group we all discuss and decided that we wasnt happy with the footage which we filmed as the quality didnt come out what we expected and also because the lighting was dark. Below i have posted a shot which we was going to use in our thriller open but was not happy with as it is 'grainey' and isnt clear like we wanted. Some of the footage which we filmed on the tripod also came out quite 'shakey' which doesnt make the shots clear which would be a disadvantage to the audience so we need to make sure that when we refilm that the tripod is level and in focus in what we are filming.
On sunday, we are all going to go out and film on a differant camera which has HD and make sure that we have enough lighting where ever we film to make sure that our quality of our filming comes out the highest standard possible.
When editing, we also realised that it would be a good idea to shoot each shot in more than one camera angle as this would give us more footage to work with when editing and make us find which angle would look best, for example, when recording the stalker we should do an over the shoulder shot, as well as a close up shot and a long shot.

Advertisment
On the internet, their is a website which is http://www.glogster.com/ which allows you to create online posters and advertisment. I decided that this would be a good website to use to create an advertisment for our thriller film, using glogster i created a background, uploaded images from the internet and added text to make my poster look as interesting as possible. Below is the advertisment for 'unknown' which i created.

Testing
On my laptop i found a basic 'movie maker' which i thought would be a good idea to use to see how it works and get an idea of using differant softwares. The programme is called 'Muvee Reveal', i decided to use this to show differant camera shots which are used in films. To make the quick clip i went on google to find differant images which shows differant camera angles, i then uploaded them onto muvee reveal and arranged them in the order i wanted them to come up on the clip. I then thought that the clip looked boring as it didnt have any sound so i downloaded a quick music clip from youtube and downloaded it onto my clip.
What i made is very basic however it gave me an idea of how to use differant software which i may want to use when editing my own clip, as i have learnt how to add music and effects such as the cube which i used.

Music
Next, we will need to be thinking about the music which will be being played during certain parts of the thriller opening. We all decided that it would be much more fun and interesting if we created our own music rather than using and copying someone elses work as this is our thirller opening! To make our music we will be using a software named 'garageband' below i have shown a track which i quickly made to test out the software and get prepared to making the real thing.
Sample Garageband by kerrythompson24
Here below are some tracks which have been used in previous thriller films, i will be listening to these tracks and taking to them into consideration when it comes to making my music as they all make your heart race and build tention for the audience. I personally think that the music creates a huge impact on what is going on in the scene as it can tell the audience what is about to happen, for example if someone was walking up the stairs and the beat of the track got faster we would prepare ourselves for something bad to happen.
This music which is found in the film hide and seek comes across as quite mysterious and the humming of a young girl creates suspense as it sounds scary.
Jaws has one of the most classic music which gets the audience heart racing, i could listen closely to this when making my thriller opening as this is a very sucessful piece of music which creates alot of suspense during an interesting and main part of the film.
Eventhough rockys theme tune does not create suspense or tention in any way, i think that this is a very good piece of music to listen to and work with when thinking about my music, the reason for this is it was a great success and when people hear this music back they can tell straight away what film it comes from which i think is very important when thinking and making music.
I will soon blog my final piece of music which we will be using in the opening scene.

Swivell Productions.
Swivell productions is the name which me and my group came up with for our production logo at the start of our thriller film 'unkown.' Together as a group we all thought of names which we thought would be good and in the end thought that my idea would be the best one to work with and use, the next step which we all had to take was to use the software 'aftershocks' to create our production logo.
Aftershocks is a very complicated and hard programme to work with so it took some practicing before we was all happy knowing what we was doing, before we got our final product we took differant steps and tried out differant colours and text styles before we came to a decision of which one looked the best.

Here we added an effect to the name, as you can see that we blurred and sharpened the writing which was a spot light on the writing. This is just another basic step which we used to create our production logo but yet still it looks boring and plain so we wanted it to look more colourful and interesting.
After changing the colour of the text, we thought that we would add an effect to the writing to make it look more interactive and make the writing come in with an effect. After doing this we then decided that we wanted the production logo to move which ment that we decided to change a few other things. Below is the final product.
Above you can see the final product for swivell production. After using text layers, camera layers and a light layer it allowed us to achieve our final product, this now means that we have a productiong logo which moves, swivell as the name says and lights up. To finally complete the product when on the opening title we will be using garage band to create a sound effect to go with it.

Here is a printscreen of our basic start, as you can see is that we have only just got our production name wrote here and it looks boring, our next step was to make it look more interesting and professional like a real production logo.

Video Of how we thought filming went
In this video we mentioned that their was some obstructions in our shots which we had to move, above are the images of the items which we had to move. The reason why we had to move these items is that they did not fit in with the scene and they would of distracted the audeinces attention,

Testing of Production Logos.
Before i feel confident enough to use the software 'after effects' to create my production logo, i decided to use a website which is:
http://cooltext.com/
to have some basic ideas of what our production logo could look like. This website lets you use differant fonts and styles of how you want your writing to look, this website isnt no where near as good as the after effects programme which is why we will be using the after effetcs to create our production logo.
As you can see that these are basic, with the 'after effect' programme we will be including movement in our design along with alot of other effetcs which will interest the audience.

Interesting Production Logos
This video here has many differant production Logos which are interesting and differant. These production logos inspire me as it had differant styles, for example some of them are basic and some of them move.
Here is a famous production logo which many people recognise as it is Disney Walt Pictures. Disney is an inspiration as it is normally found on films which are aimed at younger people, however near enough everyone recognises their films just by the logo production as it is so famous.
Warner Brothers is an american production and is found at the start of many films, this is a well recognised production. This is an inspiration as it is not complicated and simple but yet such a sucessful production logo.
Lastly Universal pictures. This is also a very good production logo as it has music which is recognisable as well as the logo itself. The writing 'Universal' goes with the logo of the universe itself which is good as they link together. This is what we are aiming to do with ours as it is 'Swivell Productions' so we will have the logo 'swivelling'

Day of Filming.
Today was the day when the filming begun! It is Sunday the 7th of November and at 2:00pm we all met up to begin our filming to our thriller opening 'blackout'. During our day of filming we had to work around a few problems, for example we was ment to have a male stalker in which kerrys friend was going to take on the role but couldnt make it on sunday. As a group we decided that it would be a good idea to use chloe dressed in a hoody and not let the audience see her face to create more tention during the film.
When we was filming the weather turnt for the worse and the rain came, however we took our filming inside to return outisde later. Lastly we had to move items out of the shot which would of distracted the viewer, we had to move items outside where we was filming such as a sofa in the alleyway and a big cardboard box.
Below is pictures of which we took of us filming.
Here is emily and Kerry on set, this was taken just before the filming begun. We was planning which shots we should use and what were good ideas and not such good ideas.
Here is me, Kerry and Emily setting up our camera preparing for the first shot to be filmed!
Here is a quick picture which me, Keryy and Chloe took during a quick break.
This is an image of emily preparing to film one of our shots in the stairway of the stalker.
Again, Emily and Kerry setting up the camera to prepare us for the next shot.
Here is a rainbow which we saw during our filming. The rain came along with the sun which means we had a mixture of weather to work with during our day of filming.
Walkway which we use to walk up to the house in which we was filming in.
Here we have shown props which we used, this is something which indicates why the stalker wants to stalk the girl.
Here shows where we set up our camera to film the props laying on the floor.

Opening Titles
Here are some opening titles from films which i think are interesting and may inspire us to use an idea from the same background, i am currently focused on how the titles enter in and out of the scenes:
Psycho
The Terminator
The Ring
Psycho
The Terminator
The Ring
Plan and Deadlines
These next few weeks, we are going to be busy, busy, busy! Here is the plan which me and my group will be doing to complete our thriller opening in time and to make sure it is the best thriller opening you have seen.
You never know, next year we might even be in the cinema watching 'Blackout.'
FRIDAY 5TH NOVEMBER.Today, we held a meeting and have decided that our original idea of making our film look like a home made video may not be such a good idea after all! We realised that if we make a home video our footage will turn out not as clear as we would want it to be as the camera will be shakey at all times and this isnt going to particulary interest the audience. However we all came to a conclusion and decided that if we focus our opening more on the opening titles, audience and the stalker our opening sequence could turn out alot better than what we thought.
Today we also planned out the next few weeks and decide when we will be filming, when we hope to finish our filming and begin our editing. Below are a few more important dates for us.
SUNDAY 7TH NOVEMBERSunday will be the day where blackout begins! We will be starting our filming on Sunday and are going to spend the whole day concentrating on making it the best piece of filming. We aim to get as much of our filming done as we possibly can, however we have arranged on other days which we may have to film on.
I will blog about our first day of filming Sunday night!
MONDAY 8TH NOVEMBER.After college, we are all going to meet up and carry on our filming, we will be filming in differant areas to make our film look realistic and scary.
WEDNESDAY 10TH NOVEMBER.On this date, we have all decided that we will try out garageband and have a play around with it until we feel like we know how the program work. We will then be using garageband when we complete our editing to make our own music for our film opening, we want our music to be upbeat and tense so we need to make sure that we get it right so that it has more of an effect on the audience.
FRIDAY 12TH NOVEMBER
Once our practise of garage band and main part of filming is done, we will be concentrating on our productiong Logo. On Friday the 12th of November we will be looking at differant production Logos which inspire us and then as a group decide on a production logo name and a design of it. The production logo will be one of the main parts of our film as it indicates that it was made by us.
TUESDAY 16TH NOVEMBERThis is the date in which we all agreed that our filming should be done and finished. Tuesday the 16th and thats it. No more cameras which means no mroe filming for us! This means that Black out would have been done and filmed and all left to do now is to edit it to bring it up to better standards.
FRIDAY 19TH NOVEMBER - TUESDAY 30TH NOVEMBERDuring these two dates we will be editing Black out!!
You never know, next year we might even be in the cinema watching 'Blackout.'

Film Rating

As a group we have decided that our film rating certificate will be 12.
Having our certificate as 12, it measn that our main target audience which is teenagers of an age from 14 to 19 will be able to watch out film.
Certificate films of 12 tend to not be as grosum as films with a 15 or more certificate has as you are not allowed to involve these in your film.
Our film is mainly based on the stalker following the girls which means that 12 is a perfect certificate for our group.
